Violence against women has become a subject of concern as the cases are becoming rampant in places all over the nation. Be it the domestic violence against women in India which usually takes place in rural areas amongst the poorer section of people, or the sexual violence as in rapes taking place in cities like Delhi where almost everyday such cases occur. People should come together and take a stand to stop such violence as indian women hold a very respectable position in our societies and also our lives.
Torture Against Indian Women should be stopped. National Crimes Bureau with Ministry of Home Affairs, Indian Government revealed 71.5% increase as in torture cases, dowry death within the period 1991-1995. In 1995 torture to women reached to 29.2% of all other reported crime cases against Indian women. Even every 1 out of 3 women faces brutality at their husbands' or father' or brothers' or uncles' hands.
There has been increase seen in the violence against women which must be stopped at any cost. Government should take major steps to stop violence against women. Women are not weak these days and they can be motivated by the socialites to protect themselves from such violence. domestic violence is the major reason for the weakness of women.
This is the fact that violence against women is worldwide problem which affects women of all ages, races, ethnicities, nationalities as well as socio-economic backgrounds. Various social, political, economic and religious forces affect women’s human rights in the way or the other like early marriages, dowry related violence, honor killings, rapes and so on.
In the male dominated society, people believe that man is biologically superior to woman and this feeling makes man reduce the status of woman just to be an appendage tlo him.Man becomes the merciless monster who uses woman as just an object of gratifying his sexual lust and physical desires. However with time the scenario is changing and the constitution safeguards many rights for woman. This protects her from exploitation and puts her at par with man socially. With time she has proved her might that she can equalize man in all walks of life.
Women are still being exploited,we can still see domestic violence happening in many households.Women are being deprived from education, equal rights and from getting respect in the society.
Violence against women has been taking place since time unknown and is still existing even in the 21st century. It prevails everywhere, be it at home, office or anywhere outside. The dignity of a women is being shattered by the male folks of the society. Women are being abused both mentally as well as as physically and are not being treated as a human being. The violence against women should be stopped by educating the women folk about their rights and also by enacting stringent laws.
The ongoing battle to stop crimes against women in India doesn't seem to end. Atrocities go on to continue even after the president of India passed the Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill 2013. Additional to rapes, the law also covers many issues like human trafficking, acid attacks, voyeurism etc and addresses stringent punishments against each. Post the gruesome Delhi gang-rape case, many issues came under the light and the public outcries grew louder with each. The recent one being that of a 5 year-old girl who was raped by her neighbor. I fail to understand what is the government doing with all the power in their hands. Sitting and waiting for something to happen to their own wives and daughters? It's clear that passing laws isn't enough! The government needs to do something against the offenders who have no fear of any kind and carry on with their acts of brutality. Along with this, the Indian police personnel has no training whatsoever in terms of dealing with the victims of such heinous crimes. Public continues to protest, activists continue to fight for women's rights and this is just not going help. Because the problem lies in the system and the role that government is playing. The most important task that lies ahead is sensitizing the police force and give them proper training to deal with the victims. These poor people already undergo so much of pain and trauma that all they seek during hard times is a little support and hope. But when police ill-treats them by throwing them into jail or seeking money, they add on to their misery. For instance, victims of trafficking who are forced into prostitution are often found to be criminalized and jailed when they are seen giving away services. But what these policemen and government fails to understand is that most of these girls are often picked up by the pimps and pushed into sex trade against their will. And once they get into the business, they are forced to obey what their pimps or brothel owners tell them to do. When they try and rebel, they're beaten up and starved until they stop feeling any kind of pain. Do you think this is fair? Are these people (victims) really responsible for the things that happen to them? High time! Government needs to begin work towards the society's betterment and must instill fear in the minds of people so that they think numerous time before committing a crime. STOP CRIME AGAINST WOMEN IN INDIA
'Gender is a socially stated term Sex is biologically stated" Yes there is a fundamental flaw in the society that leads to violence against women. The patriarchal norms stated by the society force woman to remain submissive and accept all injustice done to her. It is gender inequality that licenses men to exercise violence against women and no, no one comes to their rescue. it not that one amongst hundreds of crimes against women that comes up in the scenario, rather it is the mentality that itself is a crime against women that which violates the rights of women and encroaches upon their status in the society reducing them to mere objects of sexual gratification.
I fail to understand how family members can hurt the women of their family. Women raise and take care of the entire family. It is really saddening to see this. The abuse is physical, mental and emotional as well. It prevents their bodies and minds to bloom which should eventually threaten the progress of the society. I would encourage women to report domestic violence to the authorities.
