Indian summer is known for extreme temperature. In the heat, even best of car ACs struggle to cool down the interiors in the time of need. The car AC take much more time to bring down the temperature that also brings down the fuel efficiency. Here are few great tips that can be used to increase the effectiveness of your car’s AC in the summers.
Use window shades
With the Supreme Court of India banning the use of sun films in cars, it has become difficult to keep the sun out of the car. Cars create a greenhouse effect and multiply the amount of heat. However, you can use window shades to ensure that the sun rays are not entering your vehicle. Window shades are available at any car accessory ship and are very affordable. The window shades can be removed at any time you feel like.
Get your AC serviced
Just like your home AC, the car AC needs servicing. If your car service is not due in the near future, you can get the vehicle to the workshop to get the AC checked. Car ACs also need inert gas, filter, and have a lot of drive belts and pulleys, keeping the moving parts in top notch condition will make the AC work more efficiently, and it will bring down the fuel cost. Car ACs should be checked by only authorised dealers as different brands use different kinds of set-up that are best known by the authorised dealers.
Crack open the windows
It is the best bet to always park your car under the shade. If you can’t find a shady area, you can keep the windows slightly open. The open windows will allow the air to pass through the car and will keep the temperature at a cooler level. Air circulation reduces the greenhouse effect, making the car remain cooler. If you install sun visor in your car, you can keep the windows slightly open without any fear.
Use AC efficiently
If the car was parked under the sun for a long time and the interiors have become very hot, do not turn on the AC as soon as you start the car. You can use a simple trick to bring down the temperature first and then use the AC efficiently.
Open the windows and start the blower of the car without turning on the AC. Drive with the windows down for about 5 minutes, and then you can turn on the AC and close the windows. This will ensure that the temperature comes down quickly and the AC does not have to work hard to bring down the temperature of the car.
