Royal Enfield is ever expanding. After introducing one-of-its-kind bikes in the segment like the Himalayan Adventure bike and the Continental GT cafe racer in the market, the brand is planning to launch many new bikes in 2018. There are as many as ten new bikes that the brand plans to launch in 2018. Here are all the bikes.

RE Interceptor

Interceptor 650

Royal Enfield showcased their first ever parallel-twin powered motorcycle at the EICMA 2018 earlier this year. The brand will bring the 650cc, parallel-twin Interceptor 650 to India in 2018. The four-stroke engine produces a maximum of 47 Bhp – 52 Nm. The bike gets the 6-speed manual transmission. The street-bike styled Interceptor 650 will be a good highway companion too. Expected price is around Rs. 3.25 lakh.

Continental GT 650

Royal Enfield has also showcased the Continental GT 650. It is based on the Interceptor 650 and gets the same engine, but it has cafe racer styled body layout and an aggressive seating posture. The bike is similar to the Continental GT 535 but gets the more powerful engine.

500X and 350X

Royal Enfield will soon launch the new variants of Thunderbird in the form of Thunderbird 500X and the 300X. The bikes will get contrasting body colours and will have to style similar to the Harley-Davidson Street 750. Apart from the body getting contrast colours, the other cycle parts and engine get black paint scheme to add a very premium touch. The bike also gets a new handlebar and new position of the footpegs that make it easier to ride on the longer distance.

Himalayan ABS and Himalayan 650

Royal Enfield is planning to launch the 650cc Himalayan in 2019. However, before that, the regular Himalayan will be launched with ABS next year. The 650cc Himalayan will get the same engine as the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. Customers currently criticize the Himalayan for being underpowered. The new engine will solve the problem.

Classic ABS

Royal Enfield did introduce the disc brake on their range of motorcycles, but the bikes are yet to get ABS. Now April 2018 is the deadline for the manufacturers to put ABS as standard on bikes above 125cc in India. This will force Royal Enfield to introduce the ABS in their bikes, and the Classic range will get same. Prices are expected to rise by at least Rs. 10,000 when the feature is added.

Thunderbird ABS

Just like the Classic range, the Thunderbird 350 and Thunderbird 500 will also get ABS. The bikes already offer twin disc brakes, and Royal Enfield only needs to add the ABS to the model. Expect a price increase of at least Rs. 10,000 when the feature is added.

Bullet ABS

The entry level bike from the brand, the Bullet is quite popular among the youths. With the rule of offering ABS as a mandatory feature from April 2018, Royal Enfield will also make sure that the Bullet gets the safety feature.  Bullet has always been criticised for poor braking response mainly due to the heavyweight it carries.
