How to rock the next three years in college

We really do all sorts of homework before we’re ready to accommodate ourselves to a totally new environment. The investigation is as vigorous as our energy to look forward to new endeavors – the good, the bad. This is the normal human instinct speaking when it comes to a new job or moving to a new city or the likes of it. Yet there is something exclusive about college days that make us sketch the three years of our lives in our mind just as everyone else would want to. So, the fresher’s survival guide to spend the coming years in college with style is officially here.

Catch hold of the I-can-fix-anything guy

To know people of this lot is not a benefit but a privilege. Desi language terms them as ‘jugaadu’ and they can get you a replacement of your lost charger to getting you to talk to your crush in freshman days. Any naivety during the initial days in college can go back to rest because he/she is the new rescue man in your life. Judgmental people might see it as an opportunity to accuse one of using the certain person but that would be based on some delusional theories they have to prove to themselves. It is okay to have such people around who not only help you feel smart about yourself but also teach the art of being everyone’s-man.

Plan exciting trips

If you’re shifting to a different city, enjoying a hostel life and not exploring the ‘right’ things, then you are definitely not leaving much to devour in future. Undoubtedly life is dull without spontaneous plans and traveling to new places. Student life might not permit one the extravaganza of long trips but punctuality with money can afford one exciting trips to nearby places of the college. To explore the nitty-gritty of a place is to be aware of a new culture, lifestyle, food habit, language which makes college life exciting on a whole new level!

Join/open clubs

Getting into clubs not only means you’ve hit the right button for socialization but also ensures that academic life is not only about books and stress! Outside the dominion of what students have to endure to be part of the ‘rat race’, clubs could be considered as a welcoming door for a change. Although it is expected of most parents to advocate against such involvement, yet it is necessary that students understand the benefits of keeping themselves engaged in something useful. Beginning from cultural to technological clubs, a lot can be done if pondered upon.

Freelancing ( to earn extra Cash )

This is an important suggestion in the sense that freelancing could work in favor of situations. We all have been broke in our student life and no amount of pocket money from parents satisfies our growing needs. While it would be wrong to say that pocket money should be spent to feed such needs, it is better if we decide in no more being a burden to our parents and help them in any way we can. Remaining financially independent (as a result of own hard work) is one of the greatest feelings and teaches us about money management.

Utilize the library

It’s obviously a plus-on if you’re a book lover but libraries are like temples. It is like experiencing the world from the comfort of your seat. The scope of learning never ends and the existence of library is like a hope for a better world. Because human beings ‘become humans’ there.

This was a preview of how three years of one’s life can be really useful but there could be more on the table. Also, be prepared to learn from your mistakes and failures. Afterall, these years will shape the person in you
