‘Zero’, ‘Fictitious’ and ‘Not Authentic’ were the terms that the Hon’ble Supreme Court chose to describe the documents seized by the Income Tax department, which had not only formed the basis for the PIL filed by former AAP man, Prashant Bhushan; but had also formed the basis for Rahul Gandhi’s attack against the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi during his “public” appearance at Mehsana, Gujarat…when the Congress scion took the battle right up to the Prime Minister’s very own backyard.

Of course, the attack in Mehsana came post the sensational revelation, when Rahul Gandhi (along with a delegation of the opposition party leaders) spoke to the media at the Central Hall in Parliament. This is where, the fired-up Gandhi told the members of the press that he had first-hand knowledge of the Prime Minister’s corruption, which was literally making the Indian Prime Minister shake in his boots.*

While the court had provided until December 14** for Prashant Bhushan to furnish additional (albeit credible) evidence, the matter had to be adjourned to January 11 when Prashant Bhushan failed to furnish any such evidence when the case came up for hearing on December 16.

Then again, the Congress Vice President wasn’t going to let something as inconsequential as the Supreme Court stop him dead in his tracks. After all, why should he care about the fact that the matter was subjudice or the fact that no credible evidence had been submitted in the court. Logic and legitimacy are bad words when it comes to the Indian politics and the Indian politician.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that the Congress Vice President has spoken out of turn… or without basis. He often comes up with these strange gimmicks that he believes will be successful in dismantling the man from his chair… [the fact that he fails spectacularly… is another matter altogether].

Of course, with the Hon’ble Supreme Court brushing aside the “so-called” evidence submitted in the court of law, Rahul Gandhi is back on his backfoot; although I am sure, he won’t be resting for too long. After all, he has a point to prove (both to Mommy dearest and the other Congressmen that secretly question…both his capacity and capability…to lead the party (let alone lead the country) to success!).

But one thing is for certain, this is not the end of Rahul Gandhi’s open-war against the Indian Prime Minister. And we are soon going to see him again…once again crying hoarse (even as he cries wolf). But the thing that I wonder (and I am sure as do you)…just how many times will the little Congress Prince cry wolf … before the actual wolf comes and devours him. That, of course, is for time to tell…even though, we know it’s a political certainty.

[* – Of course…now how did Mr. Gandhi know that Narendra Modi was “personally” terrified [of the charges…of him… blah blah] … is beyond the scope of this article and also beyond the scope of logic.] [** – December 14, incidentally, was also the day when Rahul Gandhi remarked that there would be an “earthquake” if he spoke…]
