Just recently we all have celebrated the International Yoga day on 21st June 2015 with much enthusiasm and high spirit. The whole country seemed to be moved by this day and why not, after all Yoga has been a quintessential activity for our body and mind’s well-being. Since ages saints, spiritual learners and masters have advocated the practices of yoga in our country because it has possessed innumerable benefits for the human beings. It has got not only the physical aspect attached to itself but a great spiritual significance too. Yoga helps not only the body to maintain fitness but it immensely helps in elevating one’s mind and soul also.

Yoga in spiritual sense also means; building a connection with God while in the physical terms it means to follow certain physical postures which advance good health, fitness and wellness. Yoga helps to relieve stress and anxieties, the disciplined followers of yoga have claimed that it has tremendously helped them to maintain a healthy lifestyle where they stay free from all the stress and tensions since yoga assists the mind and body in controlling the level of Cortisol hormone (hormone that causes stress and anxieties).

So, when practicing yoga is so much beneficial why should we limit our high spirits for only one single day? Rather we should make it an integral part of our daily routine. One can begin with the easy yoga techniques and then gradually make progress even the simple postures (such as shava-aasan, vajraa-aasan, sarpa-aasan) have got many benefits for the human body and help in relieving many kinds of complex pains like backache, headache, spinal pains etc. today everybody is so much occupied in work and other things, they have no time for the wellness of the body and even their minds are distracted and disturbed. Yoga seems to bring both physical and mental harmony for the human being thus, making it a part of the basic life would be a significant step in the same process.
