Recently, Mr. Ahluwalia stated that India must improve its Economic growth levels to improve the infrastructure and reduce the poverty levels. I believe that to reduce poverty and improve the infrastructure we need will power and not economic growth. For instance, Mexico is the 13th largest economy which is lower than that of India and yet we find poverty levels higher in India. Planning commission must come up with some serious and actionable plans. It is a collective effort so its always easy to play the blame game, so i think we should not do this. Let us act to bring the change!
I agree with you that it is a collective game and not a blame game. Poverty cannot be reduced only economic growth, although we need to reform our economic policies. Improving our infrastructure can help in reducing poverty in India and every citizen should help in bringing a change to our nation and help in curbing poverty which is increasing instead of decreasing. I agree that the Indian Planning commission should come up with serious plan and act upon it with seriousness.
I agree with you that poverty cannot be reduced only economic growth, although we need to reform our economic policies. It is a long persistent problem that India is still facing and is a major hindrance for the economic growth and development of the nation. It can be resolved if we actually want to and the Government takes serious steps and implement them to curb poverty from our nation.
Poverty in India still exist due to unequal distribution of wealth. In India, due to this, the rich are becoming richer and poor are becoming poorer and thus poverty still exist. Poverty can only be reduced by economic upliftment of the economically backward classes and by distribution of the wealth equally, poverty can be curbed from India.
