Today, Women are becoming more career oriented and generally prefer having babies after 35 years. However, it has been medically proved that it is not a very good decision to have babies after the age of 30 as it increases the risk. The risks are that the quality of eggs decreases with age, the baby may be born with several defects, infertility issues, increased risk of miscarriage and other such issues. It is not very wise to plan a baby after the age of 35. It is not that just Aishwarya Rai is the only women who planned a baby at the age of 37 years but this is seen in most working women today that they are planning babies after the age of 35.

What do you think preferring baby after the age of 35 years is a good idea?

Like Aishwarya Rai and many other Bollywood Actors, working women prefer having babies after the age of the 35 years and this is because they think that having a baby will be an obstacle in their career. They do not realize the consequences of planning the first baby after 35 can be a risk for them as well as the baby. There can be issues related to fertility, risk of baby being born with some severe genetic defects, baby may be born with several abnormalities and defects. There is even a risk of miscarriage. So, in my view it is not good idea to have a baby after the age of 35 years.

Pregnancy after 35 brings a greater likelihood for complications that can necessitate the need for a C-section delivery. Your risk for chromosome abnormalities, such as Down syndrome, is also elevated, as well as the risk for miscarriage, which increases as you age. According to the Mayo Clinic, the age of your baby's father also plays a role in a successful pregnancy. Babies born to men 40 and older have a higher risk of autism, and some birth defects are more common in babies with fathers over 50 due to gene mutations.

Today women have become more career oriented and they do not want to have babies early as they think it will create hurdle in their path of success and generally prefer having baby after 35 years without realizing the effects. Pregnancy after the age of 35years is quite risky and may even be a risk to life of both the mother and the baby.
