Why should 'walking alone at night' remains a fantasy for women in India?

Needless to mention again and again that women in India are truly unsafe in the present time. They are not at all sure about their safety and security, no street, no road, no corner seems to be safer for them. There is no one to confirm their security and safety. The police seems to be lost particularly at the times whenever any crime takes place against a girl/woman. Moving out alone has become the scariest thing for women and if that has to be at the night time, this sounds just impossible for a woman. Moving out at the night time is something unusual for an Indian woman which she can only fantasize about! There is nothing real in it and can't be. Young girls and women who are working in the night shifts, if coming back from the office late night or if it is just about moving out alone for a walk; women are NOT AT ALL SAFE! But why such a havoc has been created, why women can’t dare and wish to move out alone in the night time? Is our country flooded with the demons who wander in the night time to gobble up the innocent women prey? Perhaps yes! In fact safety has become a nightmare for the women in India.

They just cannot feel free in their own motherland and that is actually shameful. May it be day or night none of the time is safe for the women in the current situation. So far the male dominated society continues to perceive women as "prey" for satisfying their bestial and animalistic desires, till then women can only fantasize about their safety both day and night! And where does the police go at the night time when they must be attentive and alert to stop any crime and violence against the women? The police has to take the security and safety of the women very seriously now, otherwise women will also stop trusting the police over a period of time.
