On one side, the image of India to the world is stated as one of the fastest growing nation and on the other side the current problems of India are countering on its developing image. China is one of the bordering neighbor of India, but many of the time, it is compared with China, based on its prevailing problems. Recently it has been noticed that some of the German schoolbooks are creating a very different image about India on its students. These books have compared India with China, by highlighting its unbalance image. These books states India image as the Third Largest Problem driven nation and only speak about the old stereo type image of India.

What could be possible reasons behind this comparison and wrong image?

India and china --- not only do they share common political borders but are also facing similar problems and are pacing towards development at a parallel levels. Both the countries have high population problem and both are trying to employ their increasing population in bulk production work... not only to feed their own stomachs but also to meet the global requirements in every sector.
we both produce food, cloth, technical equipment, and what not... and our produce is consumes across the globe.

India-china do have common physiological problems, social problems and community issues. so wouldn't we be compared to each other?
India and china both are developing at a fast pace, and very soon, we both are going to change our image at world level.
the German text books will soon become history :)

well the possible reason for airing wrong image could be their impression on us. not many of foreigners have studied india thoroughly, and even though they study, its diversity is far beyond anyones knowledge. indians should try to create a positive image internationally. the major reason why india is on comparision with china is that it is neighbor and a good competitor in all the aspects.

india and china are neighboring countries and both share common ancestry so this could be a reason why china and india are compared as even the people are as traditional as indians so why not compare them in other aspects too. india does lag in technology and development comparing to china and this is a fact which we need to accept.

well, china is neighbour of india and is developing country. it is a large country like india and harbors largest population which is also like india. so the other aspects like economy, technology, and development are compared with that of india. moreover china is a good competitor in military advancements as there exists some harshness between the two nations border.

China’s economy has enhanced massively since few decades. Though india’s economy has grown in this time as well, in terms of numbers it can’t be compared to the Asian counterparts. The 2 countries have the 2 biggest population on earth with almost 1.3 million as well as 1.2 billion respectively. The country like china has more than a billion residences than the 3rd biggest country USA. These are the main factors why these two countries are compared.

the reason is quite simple, as china is the neighbor of india and it is on par with india in terms of population, and area of land, the other aspects automatically come into comparison. chinese economy and indian economy especially are always on stiff competition as chinese markets are doing pretty well all over the world and india needs to catch up with china.

India and China are both large nations with almost similar culture and both share a common ancestry. Even in terms of population, both the nations stand close by and so it becomes pertinent that both the countries would be compared for they share a lot of things in common and moreover they are neighbors.
