Whenever people from varied countries come to India what they are interested in is undeveloped and poor part of India. Cause is media of their country who show about hows the life of poor people in India, child marraiges, child labour and all such stuff. Even the documentries or movies made on India show the same thing like as slumdog mllionaire. Before a day or two i came across on a show in which a foreign gernalist exploring India. Having explained a bit about heritage of India he switched over to what poor people do for their livelihood and how they raise their children. The next he talked to few very young village girls about hows their life, are they married, have they learned how to read and write.

Why not the positive and good points are explored by them? There is no country that doesnt seem to have any problems. Moreover, India has gone through a hell lot of difficulties and been in obscurity for a long period inspite of which has grown with leaps and bounds. Discussions welcomed.

india is recognised as ancient and country of traditions and cultures. the international media show the undeveloped parts of india as they are the ones where our tradition and culture can be seen. the other reason that could be behind is that underdeveloped parts of india need attention of people, their grievances and problems need to be addressed.

That is true that the main reason for showing all the grey pictures of India is to bring everyone attention for help, but does that really happen. People in other nations laugh and mock on it; they very well know the problems of India but are the aware about what all India has given so far to the entire world. By just taking the patent does not mean that the mother who has given birth does not exist, it simply means that you are too willing and dying to adopt the same child.

this is because they have knowledge on india which previously used to be and they have a mindset that india is underdeveloped. so the coverage what they take up is mostly of underdeveloped parts as that makes them believe it is india. the essence of true india lies in the rurals and those parts which they show but not in the cities :D
