It made me little surprised when I once saw a few of the pictures of Gods and Goddess embossed on the roadside fences and walls and downwards there was a humble message specially mentioned; "Kindly do not pee here, God sees you". Well, this is something that depicts the general attitudes of the Indian human civilization that in some aspects have crossed the limits. Peeing in public; has been now become a social practice within the Indian citizens particularly among the Menfolks. Men do not feel hesitant in peeing in open as if it is one of their rights or liberties given to them by the authority. However, both the men and women in the Indian rural areas have been practicing such things (peeing and defecating) in open, but it is needless to say that the Indian men have more open attitudes about peeing in public. Although there are many agendas have been planned by the Municipal Corporation and Human Welfare System of the country to build a number of public toilets in the city as well as in the rural areas but among those agendas many of them are still in the papers. As far as the problem is concerned, there are two main reasons behind this particular social practice; 1. There is a lack of Public Toilets and 2. Lack of Awareness of Social Etiquettes. It is basically all about understanding the basic needs of the citizens as well as the environment. If the government will not provide public toilets or will not give attention to the cleanliness of the present toilets then the general public will obviously take other measures which soon will become social practices, and then the government cannot compel or claim the citizens to keep the city clean and to maintain the civilized standards. Along with that on the personal front as well; especially men citizens should understand it well that peeing in public is certainly not their Liberty, no such freedom has ever been delegated to them. So while peeing in the open they are absolutely showing a degraded standard of their actions and manners. It is not something that if another person is doing it, then you can also do it, but it is about understanding that what we are doing is actually right or not? The freedom of peeing in the open that the Indian men feel; is not ascribed but acquired under the shade of ignorance.
