The three annual plans were from ’66 to ’69. Agriculture had suffered due to war and drought so better seeds, fertilizers, irrigation, soil conservation were given emphasis. These three years absorbed the shocks of the previous plan and led to further growth in the next plan.

one, two or three plans are gone let us talk about the fourth one. How was the fourth plan? The fourth five year plan (’69-74) had mixed results. Agriculture was the main focus and the first two years had record production. However, the ’72 Indo Pak war and Bangladeshi refugee crisis along with poor monsoon led to a failure in the last 3 years. The 4th year plan had an average affect on the people and agricultural sector that improved a bit of life of the farmers.
