Really time just flies by, there was a time when we used to write letters and send postcards to our relatives and loved ones to know about their well being and to contact them. But time has completely been changed, now if you wish to contact and want to know something about your acquaintances you are just an e-mail or a chat away! Yes, you just have to mail or chat (video/non-verbal) with the person and everything is in front of you. But I feel there is still something in the culture of writing letters and sending postcards that makes it different from sending mails and chats in the present times. In my opinion; it is the genuine feelings and pains one used to take at that time; that makes the letters and postcards still noteworthy than the mails and chats.

The e-mails and chats are quite mechanical; however, it is one of the boons of technology but it makes the true inner feelings of the person completely mechanical till the message reaches to the receivers. There are numerous of emoticons, ready-made thoughts and ideas that can easily be copy pasted now. Which ultimately leaves no scope for the person to express the real feelings to the other person. And this all tasks seem to be a game of typing, copy-pasting and clicking the tabs. Whereas in the old times people specially used to take out some time to sit and relax for writing a letter to someone, and the feelings were genuinely expressed without the help of any emoticons and other apps. Each and every word of those letters and postcards were used to be coming straight from the heart and moreover there were no mechanicalities in those.
