We keep hearing about Section 498A of the Indian Penal Code but very few of us actually know its relevance. Section 498A of the IPC deals with criminal offence against a women. However, I would like to know whether it is relevant only to dowry or even domestic violence comes under this section? If domestic violence as well comes under this section, then why is a separate act being made to protect women against domestic violence?
