What is an Affidavit?

    An affidavit is defined in order 19 rule 1 of Code of Civil Procedure, 1901. An affidavit is a declaration of facts,made in writing and sworn before an officer having authority to administer oath. It should be drawn up in first person and should not contain an inference but contain only facts.
