    Numbers!

India has given the world of mankind a counting system without which nothing else could progress.

    Even Einstein acknowledged this fact.

Also one of the earliest societies to adopt a version of democracy (though only in small pockets) if I'm not wrong, almost at the same time as the Greeks. However monarchy was the dominant form of government.

Don't forget the famous treatise on sex either...

    India's contribution is beyond calculation

Contribution of India to the world is innumerable. As we can't count the stars in the sky, to count the contribution of India is also impossible. through out the ages India has been contributing in every aspect. Let us get inspired by this and endeavour to contribute more.

    contributions

India has contributed innumerably to the world and is continuing this process....the worlds largest number of engineers are being produced in India,Mathematics was developed in India,I would say the the greatest contribution would be the CONCEPT OF 0...coz without 0 there is no maths, there is no digital electronics no computer logics n programms n no computer at all...life woudnt have been so advanced if 0 would not have been invented...

as the proofs prove it very clearly that india was the richest land in ancient time due to which the rulers and warriors from different countries wanted to rule it. the only fact that went against our india was that they knew that religion is the only factor which has the potential to divide indians and this worked as well for them. our rich culture which is not practised anywhere else in the whole world is admired by all countries. we are the only ones who still belive in touching the feet of our elders. nothing can be bigger and better than this contribution.

    World knows yoga now

Other than giving Zero, India has contributed a lot to the world. It is this reason that western culture is moving towards India. Of all the contributions India has made, the most famous these days is 'Yoga'. World has recognized the importance and benefits of Yoga now. U.S.A. even tried to patent yoga to his name but Yoga belongs to INDIA from time immemorial.
