Mamta Banerjee right after becoming the CM to the state have decided to get West Bengal a new name. The reason for this name change is being attributed to the fact that West Bengal comes at the end in alphabetical order in the all states meet where issues are addressed. But by the time they get turn most of the people feel sleepy. The suggested possible names which West Bengal could get are Bangla, Bengal or Banga.
This is indeed the matter of concern. But how does it matter if the name comes at the end of the discussion? Is the discussion and the growth rely on the name of the city or state or a country? Well, I do not think so! When the change is needed in any state then last alphabet does not make any sense and the major concern and attention should be given to the development which is required. Even if the name has to be changed then I think it is better to make it Bengal.
West Bengal's New Name- Paschim Banga CM Mamata Banerjee led West Bengal government, in consent with state's opposition parties, decided to rename the state as Paschim Banga. This new name would be passed in state-assembly, then sent to home-affairs' union-ministry and finally to the parliament then president for assent.
