Indian weddings are well known for its glamour and glow. It is altogether a very lavish affair as it continues for almost a week depicting the culture and tradition of the country. Almost every event is celebrated with same enthusiasm and glamour as the actual wedding. Indian marriages are divided in three parts pre-wedding which include Haldhi, mehendi, snageet and tilak . During the pre-wedding celebration both the families of the bride and the groom visit each other and exchange gifts. The next part is the actual wedding wherein the bride and the groom ties the conjugal knot in front of the holy fire, followed by a grand wedding feast. The last part is “Vidai” where the bride leaves for her maternal home to start the new journey of her life.

Indian weddings are celebrated in the midst of culture, tradition and rituals. The occasions that are celebrated before the actual wedding, brings simile in the face of every relatives and friends. However, Indian wedding like its culture is diverse and is celebrated differently by people of different culture and religion. The only thing that is common is, it is celebrated in a very lavish way.
