The uncertainty over India's tour of Pakistan grew on Wednesday with some senior Indian cricketers expressing apprehension over the tour due to security reasons. "We can't say much about the situation in Pakistan but given the reports, we are certainly concerned about the security there. When most of the teams are not willing to tour Pakistan, why should we go there?" a senior cricketer told TOI. "It all depends on what kind of feedback the government gives to BCCI but if we are asked about our opinion, we will surely express our concern," the player added. TV channels said on Wednesday that captain Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag are unwilling to tour Pakistan. The reports, quoting sources, said that the players had conveyed their views to the BCCI. The BCCI, however, said that it had not received any communication from the players expressing their reluctance to tour Pakistan for the Test and One-Day series. "We have not received any such communication from the players, that is all I can say," BCCI's chief administrative officer Ratnakar Shetty said. Senior BCCI official Rajiv Shukla also rubbished the reports, saying no player had approached the BCCI on this matter. "When the team for the Pakistan tour has not been selected yet, where is the question of players saying they don't want to tour", said Shukla. The tour, in any case, appears to be in trouble with the government here being apprehensive on account of security of the team. The final decision on the tour, scheduled from Janury 6 to February 19, will be taken within the next 10 days on the basis of the assessment by a high-level team of officials that will be going to Pakistan shortly. The PCB meanwhile refused to react to these reports. A senior PCB official said on Wednesday that it was premature for the board to comment as PCB is yet to hear anything officially from BCCI. Pakistan's foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had said that Dhoni and his men are welcome to tour. However, sources said last week the risk of touring was high. source : TOI
