Water is an indispensible element of our lives, we really can’t survive without it but the irony is that that we knowingly or unknowing waste it every day. We are already aware of the fact that our natural water reservoirs have been highly polluted by the sewage waste and industrial waste which is a big matter of concern. But at the personal and basic level we everyday waste water without realizing the importance of its absence. Not even a single day can be spent without water but we don’t really realize it, it’s been estimated that about 40% of water is being wasted in the urban cities everyday in many ways. And at the other hand there are people in the remote and rural areas who do not even get enough water supplies to use for their basic works. Water conservation is an important thing otherwise in the coming future we all would have to face a severe scarcity of water.

Small steps should be followed at homes to use the water wisely, such as; try to save water in extra buckets or vessels, one should avoid using showers for bathing rather use buckets and mug but if one really can’t do without a shower then try to close the shower tap when not in use, while brushing teeth put the tap close and open only when use it. While washing clothes and utensils also water should be used wisely or try to use the already saved water for the same, in the urban cities nowadays almost every home uses water purifiers which lead to a great wastage of water. The water that is released during the purification should be used in other home chores and should not be going wasted.

Always remember even a single drop of water is precious thus your every single step to save it would certainly pay off.

Water conservation has become essential these days. The idea of raising ground water level by harvesting rainwater is gaining importance because demand for water is increasing due to population explosion and infrastructure development. Most of India is water stressed, so time has come to conserve water for future generations.
