To many persons the phrase “Unity in Diversity” is nothing save a coinage, and without a doubt, any such idea does stem from their sheer ignorance. It is quite hard for them to find out the quintessence of the same as well, the majority of countries, a cross the world, is based on single factors, be it language, religion or ethnicity. Is there any such country where all these subsist in abundance? Perhaps there can’t be finer example than India, largest democracy in the global arena at the moment.

If truth be told, this vast land, aside from being the largest democracy, has many feathers to its hat. The country is going on with a civilization of more than five thousand years old, and has been a heartland or meeting point of an assortment of cultures at the same time. Even if some schools of thoughts consider the Indian civilization to be older than the Indus Valley Civilization, the same is being considered as the earliest specimen thus far.

The factors leading to the growth of this “Unity in Diversity” must be looked into at the same time. In accordance with a great number of worldwide acclaimed pundits and schools of thoughts, the foremost credit behind the rise of the same goes to the Hindu philosophy, most dominant doctrine in the Indian subcontinent. Hindu philosophy states profoundly that nothing is against it and to it each and every path in search of God is true and sacred. All these have encouraged several other viewpoints to settle in India finally and make this land as its heartland.

The same notions did also encourage the Pathan and Mongol brigands of the Middle-East Asia to enter and plunder India and the result has been opposite to their expectations. They have become a part of the Indian culture and have failed to maintain their separate identities. To be precise, their cultures and languages have also been influenced by the Indian frame of mind to a large extent. The same can be said of the British imperialism and its greatest endeavor to transform India into its mere subordinate. In the end, both English language and European culture have become a part of this “Unity in Diversity”.

    hi friend ..........

I agree with your view if I born around 1947 and died around 1990 . that means this all were applicable between this range of years.sorry to say if you view India now as a united India.I am also a proud Indian but sorry to say that Unity in Diversity has became part of history books...

For Example you can see what is happening between Maharashtra and Karnataka ...both are Indian states and integral part of India but they are fighting for Belgaum like India and Pakistan for Jammu and Kashmir...

I don't know why we divided India into so many states.

Now i didn't have any example to show that unity in diversity but I have an hope that still a few proud Indians like you are there to make India United and proud.

    Proud to be Indian !!

INDIA is a secular country with a very vast culture and traditions varies from place to place. Even if some people find it complicated or forcibly imposed but I believe India truly stands unified in diversity. There are certain festivals and occasions which particularly belong to some religion but complete India celebrates them For eg. Diwali, Id Christmas, Holi etc

Unity in diversity is my all time favorite topic. I would like to share my views about the topic as unity in diversity means that people around the nation speak different language and follow various traditional values, they are of different caste creed color and race still they stand together for the country at time of need. This is called unity in diversity.

Though india has huge amount of diversity in culture, religions, languages, it is a calm and serene country to live in without any violence or racial discrimination. All the people of india stand together as a nation when it comes to question of unity, no matter from what caste, religion, creed or sect they belong to. India is a classified example of Unity in diversity.

India has been declared as a Secular country by the Indian Constitution, which is regarded as the sole of the world’s largest democracy. The nation is known for its "Unity in Diversity". India is the only nation with diversified culture, religion, language, caste and creed. Despite of all the diversities, we all stand united as one nation and most importantly as “INDIAN.” It is a matter of proud for all citizens in India that we live in a nation that celebrates all the festivals, encourages all the religions and culture.

"Unity in Diversity" is the unique feature of India and this is what distinguishes India from the other nations of the World. The land offers diversities in various aspects be it culture, language, traditions, religion, region , natural and geography. However, despite of these diversities, we are united by one name "Indian". The feeling of love for the nation and the pride that every citizen of India feels to be called as Indian is the sole reason that unites us and binds us as one nation.

India is the only country in the World that has people of different caste, religion, language, culture, traditions, languages, etc, who lives together in harmony as Indian. India is a massive land that is known for its diversities not only in terms of culture, religion or language, but also in terms of geography. The nation portrays an exceptional unity and integrity despite of so many diversities.

India is the only nation that boasts Unity in diversity. The nation is full of diversities from various aspects and yet remains united as a single Nation which makes the nation unique and distinct from other nation of the World. The nation is diverse from every aspect be it culture, religion, language, custom, tradition even food yet the whole nation stands as one and united.
