There was an expectation on part of Indian governance that hobnobbing with the market economy instead of the erstwhile quasi-socialist economy would resolve the saga of unemployment to a large extent. But even after two decades of entering into the market economy there seems to be no respite and unemployment, on the contrary, has been rising by leaps and bounds. Is this is fallout of failure of the Indian economic system? There are some factors which hinders the Indian Economic Growth .Even tough some pundits have tried to portray the same as a colossal failure of the Indian state structure, it can’t be accepted. Lots of factors lead to unemployment and it may happen that the factors unknown in the earlier decade have become one of the most potent factors these days.

Chronicle of unemployment in India is on the rise :

In accordance with latest reports, India's labor force is growing at a rate of 2.5 per cent per annum even if employment is increasing at merely 2.3 per cent. As a result, the whole country is faced with two challenges at the same time. While one challenge is to absorb new candidates to the job market (expected to be in the region of seven million people each year), the other challenge is to clear the excess.

Here are some of the constituent factors of unemployment. One of these happens to be enormous increase in population and on each year India comes across a huge addition to its population. For this reason, no less than 5 million people grow to be qualified for securing jobs. Even if a good number of jobs are created in the urban sector, this can’t bring any respite to the national economy. The world of business remains subject to recurrent ups and downs and as a result, gross termination of jobs is not a serious issue ever.

Something should also be said of IT and IT related fields. Even if these two have been able to lessen the burden of unemployment in the urban sector, automation of job has given rise to unemployment to a large extent as well.

Congress lead UPA Government of late has brought forth Rural Employment Guarantee program, aiming to render minimum days of employment to Indians inhabiting the rural sector. The initiative is appreciable but the sincere implementation of the same can bring about the coveted result only.Chronicle of unemployment in India is on the rise

    Unemployement in India

From the very beginning the issue of employment has always been in limelight. Thanks to globalization that helped in opening doors toward employment as many International giants moved and started business on Indian grounds. But the problems still persists. Though the IT companies helped in creating opportunities but somewhere this globalization made India completely depend on foreign countries and trading, and they completely out casted their own assets, that is agriculture. If proper attention is given in grooming of agriculture and small scale industry, then we might be able to increase opportunities.

this is a serious issue because, a nation with large population can also be developed, just like china where people, though know not a single word of English are employed and can use the technology efficiently. indian government must take steps to provide employment opportunities to the people instead of holding talks and making promises.

there is surge of unemployed youth in india because the number of colleges are increasing but the intake of students has not increased leaving a stiff competition amongst the youth to fight for jobs and eventually more and more students are left unemployed. government must create new jobs for the students else our country is no way heading in the right direction

unemployment is still rampant and there is not much being done on this issue. i must acknowledge that there is some increase in number of gov posts as well as private posts but, in comparison with the rising number if youth, the posts are insufficient and still there a dire need of employment amongst the youth,

Unemployment in India is increasing day by day and the reason for this is: Government is sanctioning more and more colleges everyday without verifying their Quality of infrastructure and teaching staff's authenticity. Creation of new colleges is leading to increase in number of students graduating from colleges every year. But the number of jobs being created every year are very less compared to these students leading to high unemployment.

The problem of unemployment is becoming high in India and government is unable to take any step regarding this matter. The problem is prevailing due to the high rate of people moving to other countries and lack of companies in India. Whatever jobs people are getting are mostly related to call centers which is of no use. Local companies are not getting remuneration which they should get. Unemployment is the biggest issue these days.

Unemployment in india is the biggest problem these days as this is no less than the problem of poverty and corruption. Unemployment gives birth to many criminal activity among youngsters. When young people does not get job then they stay idle and useless ideas come in to their minds that gives way to the criminal activity and short cuts to earn money by kidnapping, robbery and other acts. So employment should be given by the govt to these people to avert such situations.

Well, i agree with you and most of the other friends here. Due to unemployment we have many bright students going abroad and pursuing education there. And the ones who are unemployed here in India are forced to take the other way around in order to make their living. Like corruption, unemployment is also one of the burning issues of India

It is a burning issue of India and needs to be resolved soon. It is because of this issue people are going abroad for pursuing studies as there are better job opportunities. Governments should create more job opportunities and the retirement age should be reduced as the young people can be employed in those posts.

Unemployment is one of the major issues India is facing. It is to a great extent hampering the economic growth of the nation. People are immigrating to other countries in hunt for better job opportunities. However, now Government should be all ears at solving this long persisting issue by creating more job opportunities in both public and private sectors as well as provide self-employment help to people who really needs help to start their own venture. In this way the problem of unemployment can be tackled to a great extent.

The problem of unemployment in India is still continuing. It is mainly due to increasing population growth in the nation, which is the root cause of many other social, political and economic problems that India is facing. Despite of Government creating job opportunities for the people, due to escalating growth of population, the number of unemployed are increasing which is leading to poverty and other such social as well as economic issues. It can be resolved by controlling the population growth, by encouraging more industries to come up. Government should work towards improving the Tourism industry as this can not only generate revenue but also create employment opportunities for people.

Unemployment is a major economic as well as social issue that is faced by India. About 9.4% is still unemployed in India and this is leading to many other issues like poverty, corruption etc. However, with the recent growth of IT industry in India, it has opened employment opportunities and with BPO's spreading to rural India will help in solving the problem of unemployment in India.

Unemployment is a problem of every developing economy and India being a developing economy it is no exception. However, Government has come up with many employment opportunities in recent times but with the increasing population, the number of unemployed are are also increasing. Self-employment is the best solution for the problem and this will also help in economic development of the nation.
