    You may want to have a Wi-Fi network connection at your home or office as it helps you to connect several computers with just a single connection and you may not know which one is a better one. Here are some of the tips to help you in buying a Wi-Fi router.

    1. First and foremost decide on what the type of device you are looking for. Whether it is a wireless router or a wireless modem router or an USB adapter.

    2. Secondly, it is better to go for a dual-band router as it will offer you a high-speed internet access and enable swift sharing of data seamlessly. Now, you must be thinking what is a dual-band router is? A dual-band router works on dual operating frequencies or bandwidth, which are 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz for enhanced and better connectivity.

    3. It is better to go for routers that have a Wireless-N technology, which supports standard protocol of 802.11n as this will offer you better speed.

    4. Next decide on whether you are looking for a DSL modem router or a wireless one. DSL (Digital Subscriber Link), which allows you to connect your computer directly to the router through a cable as well as offers Wi-Fi connectivity.

    5. Check on the number of antenna and whether they are internal or external. For better wireless network coverage, it is always better to go for routers having 4 internal antennae.

    6. Check the number of Ethernet ports and it is always better to go for routers having 4(10/100/1000) Ethernet ports as it will offer better connectivity as well as high-speed internet access.
