Most probably the NRIs in USA are the most influential community of the non resident Indians. In terms of number also they will be ahead of most of the other countries where the Indians have discovered their second home. As the residents of the most prosperous & powerful country of the world, the NRIs in America are looked up with high regards.

A humour column that was published in the Time magazine sparked new controversies. Many Indians group has protested against this article and has termed it as an insult on the Indians.

Joel Stein, the author of the article is narrating how the Indian immigrants have changed the town of Edison located in New Jersey. (One third of the population of Edison is of Indian origin). In this article Indians are mocked at because of spicy food, large families and so on.

It’s a good sign that the magazine and the writer have tendered an apology to the Indian Americans for hurting their sentiments. Thanks to the unity of the Indians living in America.

The Americans should understand that Immigration has enriched the culture of America. The values that the Indians are carrying to America have a great role to play in the society of USA. The NRI’s in USA will be more aware of the issues. We invite all the people of Indian origin to discuss this issue on this platform and express their views.
