    Hi All,

I've recently applied for Tier 1 (General) Migrant Visa. To my surprise, the application got refused. Below are the details.

The net balance in my accounts(Savings Bank & Fixed Deposit) exceeds the mandate of min. 2800 pounds, although, neither of the accounts alone meets the mandate. The application got refused since- The FD account was not considered as bank letter confirming funds can be withdrawn at any time not enclosed. Contrary to this, I didn't find any mention of this in the website(s).

I'm asked to request for an Administrative review of this decision(made by Entry Clearance Officer). It's also mentioned that- I'm not supposed to send any supporting evidence with my request (, unless specifically requested by the administrative reviewer or if I've been refused under paragraphs 320 (7A) or (7B) of the Immigration Rules).

One of the suggestions I was given is that- Besides the filled Administrative review request form, enclose a letter(stapled with a BANK LETTER CONFIRMING- FUNDS CAN BE WITHDRAWN AT ANY TIME) just to reiterate the adequacy of funds.

    Any other suggestions/opinions/ideas/comments please ?

I request the experts to kindly respond at the earliest !!!

    Thank you all!

    Hi Pavani
I am in the same situation too. Are your sure Fixed Deposits are accepted as proof for maintenance funds. What do you plan further?
