The state of world’s mothers 2010 report evaluates countries on access to education, economic opportunities and maternal and child healthcare. India ranks 1st out of 12 countries which account for 2/3 of under-five and maternal deaths in the world. It stands at the position of 73rd out of 77 middle-income countries rated by the report.
