Today, we are celebrating the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi ( Gandhi Jayanti ) as the National Martyr’s Day. Though his life as well as his death is full of controversy, no one can deny the fact that he united the spirit of freedom into a nation wide struggle.

He tried to unite India but failed. Yet his contribution in uniting the rest of India is significant. His autobiography is titled, “My experiments with truth”.

Is the freedom struggle of India led by Mahatma Gandhi was an experiment? Was he responsible for the death of millions of people as a result of the partition?

It will be unwise, to blame Gandhi Ji directly. No doubt, MK gandhi did his best to unite the country. But how could he unite someone who had no interest in the union as always believed in separation for the greed of power. Maybe it was his fault when he tried to embrace those who had no interest to be a part of a single country.

The relevance of the teachings and principles of Mahatma Gandhi cannot be ignored totally even at the present time. If the whole world starts following his principles, undoubtedly the world will be an ideal pace of peace and harmony. But the problem is that it’s impractical to expect the whole world to follow his principles. And the nations that reject his principles and follow aggressive policies will be the undisputed leaders. Yet, we can create a powerful organization of the nations that believe in the Gandhian principles and be a leader to ensure peace in the world.
