Corruption is just like a cancer for a great Nation like India. As it grows, it pushes the nation towards destruction. What India need is chemotherapy in the form of a mass movement that will save our nation from this killer disease. We may have to lose our hair as a side effect but it will be a negligible side effect in our way to save the nation.

The corrupt people (Including the Indian Politicians , Ministers and bureaucrats ) must be brought to book. But ironically, the police force responsible for maintaining law and order situation is one of the most corrupted ones. The Indian law and judiciary that is responsible for punishing the corrupted people is also not free from corruption charges. So, who will bell the cat ? Do we need a real life Hero as portrayed in the movie “Nayak”? The movie may be too dramatic. But it has the spirit to actuate every Indian to take a bold step.

Strict laws to check Corruption in India is the need of the day.

The persons who eat up public money must be punished. Another effective step will be to deny the right of opening bank accounts in Swiss banks or other foreign financial institutions. The corrupted persons will not be able to deposit their money earned by them in a corrupted way. It will reduce corruption in a radical way. Has our Government has the guts to formulate such laws?

corruption is a root cause for every evil!

It is needless to say that corruption is the root cause for every prevailing evil in India.. you see corruption every where these days from civil services to politicians and corporate world. To deal with this we all have to come togetehr and stand agaist it! But it happens that the more we say the less we do.. So it will be much better that we change ourselves rather than complaining about others regarding corruption..

hey corruption is everywhere almost in every country. But what is happening is that everyones knows it but no ones is ready to accept.

When you Drive a vehicle without a license in the western country? You would be penalised heavily or you even be dragged to jail?
In India if you are driving without a license all you need to have is a 100 rs note orelse the phone number of someone who is working in the police department?

    Rid India of corruption

This is a debate that will rage on for a long time. I understand the sentiment when Indians react against foreigners (or NRIs like me!) criticizing the culture of corruption. While it is natural to shout "hypocrite" - every other country suffers from corruption in form or another - I do not believe this is the right response. India should not compare itself to the other nation's standards, they should create their own high standards. This is a crucial and exciting time for India, and ridding the country of corruption will expedite it's emergence as global player to be reckoned with.

Casteism is the cause of corruption in India

I do believe Corruption is a cancer of Country, but this corruption has come out from the age old caste system of the country. In fact the caste system in itself emerged from the corruption among the people of the past. People were treated unequally in the past & that inequality was created by either force or by the crookedness of the landholders. These landholders still exist in the villages. Now they exist either as sarpanch or richer landholders of the past have converted themselves to Industrialist. Even if you go to the villages that force to maintain social order still exist. Ranveer sena is one such example.

As a result money sent to villages for development is intercepted by these people & used to benefit their own people.

Westernized life style is also increasing the thirst for money which is also a cause of corruption. Now everyone wants A/c & luxurious cars. Satisfaction in one's life has ended.

    We the people are responsible

I don't think the caste system or the government has much to do with corruption. We are the Government. In my opinion, the greed, impatience and selfishness of people [us] is the main cause. Also, ignorance about the RTI Act is one major factor. We can easily fight corruption with RTI, but it's a sad thing that people want their jobs done in a quicker and easier way, irrespective of whether it affects our country or not. :( We are responsible and like Gandhiji said, we should be the change that we want to see in the world.

    Corruption - Ways to handle

Agreed. Corruption is biggest problem in the country. Though corruption is prevalent in all fields, Political corruption is the king of all of them. Important thing is to understand that it can not be cured by a hard law or any thing. Root cause for this menace is:

    1. Disparities in the levels of awareness and knowledge in the country.
    2. Complicated nature of the rules and Laws

To have a control on the political corruption should be foremost item in our agenda. This can be achieved mainly through:

    1. Increased participation of ordinary and decent people in politics, there by gradually knocking out the corrupt guys out of positions of power. Ordinary and decent people should infiltrate the political parties and break the strangle hold of corrupt elements on the parties. (Guys, frankly a political party can be as good as the people who man it)

    2. Local government empowerment will reduce the stakes for political corruption significantly and make the system really transparent and easy to understand for the common man.

    Regards,

When India became Independent there was economic inequality in India. When you go to any place where there is poverty you will find coalition of the State Government with some Private company. You take the example of Vidharbha where BT Cotton is grown 200 farmers had already committed suicide till march end. You find about Monsento Company on google which provides hybrid seeds to the world market & you will come to know why Government is so much inclined to BT Brinjal & how these hybrid seeds lead to poverty
and most importantly most of them committing suicide are dalits.

If you have some relative in some Government job ask him how effective RTI has been in curbing corruption you will surely come to know the truth. I am not against its use since it can do miracles atleast for some.
But take one example "Kesrivaal once anchored a show on NDTV India regarding RTI where a person was shown who used RTI to know about DDA policy regarding Common wealth games.
He found that court has issued an order to DDA that area near Yamuna cannot be used for permanent settlements that is not for more than six months of living since it had environmental issues but they brought some environmental students from some private college of South India & conducted a survey & got a clearance from them & now they are having Akshardham at that site & at the back of that there are some flats undergoing booking for future which is very dangerous if some flood comes tomorrow. This is how State government involves in corruption & we all know that but we can't do anything about that.

I think You must know what caste system actually is before saying so . When Aryans came to India from Iran the original inhabitants that is our ancestors were Tribals, These peoples lived in forests & had a culture which was destroyed by the Aryans. These Aryans snatched tribal lands & they were forced to work in Aryan fields & were tortured & religion was forced onto them. If you see zoroastarnism of Iran & parsees Of India you will find similarity especially the sacred thread ceremony & fire ceremonies performed in our religion.
When British came to India they recognized SC & ST but in actual everyone was tribal & didnot follow any religion at all. Infact they prayed the nature God like mountains & rivers.
Even today land of tribals is being taken up by the government & these people are forced out of their homes & are force to take up jobs which is pure labour since these people are untrained for any repairing or assembly jobs hence they always enter as poor in the society.
We can't blame them since they lived on natural forest happily hence they never come to know the importance of paper money or supply demand chain & no govt. gave them training prior to their evacuation hence they always enter as poor into mainstream society where they are ill treated by the rich of the new area like Raj Thackerey & Shiv Sena doing to UP & Bihar people. They become oppressed or the Dalits of that area. Everyone who is a minority in an area is a dalit in that area

    Corruption is the social problem.

There are no effective such ways to stop corruption. Yet there are some steps can be taken to prevent corruption. There must be strict vigilance and they must oversee different departments of the government. The anti socials laws and orders must be there to check the bribery, illegal gratification. There must be strict punishments given the accused person.

    Parasites of the society

I think, corruption and corrupted people exist in every place of the world. They are the parasites of the society. They like to live on the food of other people. The corruption can be compared with cancer. Cancer is the disease which cannot be curable in the same way the corruption is something which has no medicine that can cure it. Corruption is making the society no less than the hell.
