The Artist of Disappearance by the veteran Indian writer Anita Desai is set in modern India, but where history still sheds a long gloominess, the stories move beyond the cities to places still disturbed by the past, and to characters who are, each in their own way, masters of self-effacement. The novel is a beautifully crafted by the author and this novel is a great work by the author. I will recommend this book to all the book lovers.
