A summon is a document issued from the office of the Court of justice calling upon the person to whom it is directed to attend before a judge for an officer before the court for certain purpose. When a plaintiff files a suit, the defendants must be informed about it.Such an intimation by the Court to the defendant is technically known as the summons. It can also be issued to witness. The mode of serving summons are according to the CPC(Code of civil procedure, 1908)
