TILL A few years back, Ranjan Choudhary was a globe trotting corporate honcho. Today, this graduate from Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, (IIM-L) is busy strategising how to connect with the people of Mohanlalganj.

This Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh may just help Choudhary's entry into politics - he is the BJP's candidate from here. "I plan to leverage the power of information technology to connect better with the masses.

We won't be making unrealistic promises." Choudhary is one among the many IIM-L graduates exploring the possibilities of how "to make a difference" in politics.

Some want to associate with a party; some want to contest or manage election campaigns, and yet others are waiting to test the waters. Annamalai Kuppusamy, a first-year student at IIM-L, is going for an internship next month with the DMDK or the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kalagam, a Tamil Nadu-based party founded in 2005.

"I believe by making the whole process scientific, politics can really serve as an instrument whereby the poor can get what they want and really deserve," said Kuppusamy. His senior, Vaibhav Agarwal, was recently appointed the state convener of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha in UP. He is also working with the BJP's central team on the Advani @ Campus programme.

"I always wanted to join a mainstream political party so that I could revamp the system from within," said Vaibhav. Venkat Lazman, another aspiring politician, says the "entry of criminals and crooks in politics is responsible for erosion of value based politics".

He will join to cleanse the system.

Indian politics really need a restructuring, where the new and young, educated and dynamic people can take the lead while the old and unhealthy politicians can rest. It is nice to see that the younger generations of today are realizing their duty towards their nation. Graduates and Official from reputed institutes and companies are turning down the offers from MNC’s and are joining politics. They are sure that with their education and technical expertise, they will be able to reframe the entire political system and will help the people and the country to have a fair chance and bright future.

It is really nice that such high educated students are stepping into politics. They are giving India and its people some hope towards betterment. Since the India political scenario today is having more politician who are too old to walk, or who are not enough educated to reform the look of India; it is important that some new faces and fresh blood people step into politics and give Indian politics a new and vitalized look. Since there is a retirement policy everywhere, why not it is there for these politicians, at least the new ones will get opportunity to show their talent.

students if enter politics can bring lot of changes in the existing political system. politics in india is mostly run by uneducated people and so we cannot hope much changes and growth of the country because they are into politics to make money. students on the other hand are source of knowledge and are always with indomitable spirit to do tasks.

Indian politics needs more and more youth as they have the potential to change the whole scenario of our nation. Students who have interest in politics should definitely join politics and work for the betterment and progress of the nation. Students or rather the youth of our nation are future of our nation and they should be encouraged to join politics if we really want our nation to develop and progress.
