There is surely no end to this debate – whether students should be part of political world or student politics ought to go on in the university campuses.Well, India is no different to the same contention and in the midst of all these, student politics is going on in the Indian educational scenario in full momentum. As per one school of thought, students must remain concerned with their own interests and hence they should form one union instead of working as student cadres of different political parties or assorted deologies. It may be that you’re also influenced by the same doctrine but to many pundits, more than even you can conceive, consider this idea as fanciful only. As per these pundits, students happen to be the most sensitive section of a society and a receptive mind is certain to react against any form of tragedy like Naxalbari, Bhopal or even Nandigram.

Truly speaking, these arguments are not new and have been dominating the pertinent scenario since the commencement of student politics in India. The concept of students’ active participation in politics in India had its commencement during the early part of 20th century and it was the time when India was fighting tooth and nail against the British imperialism. The students, by means of their immense bravery and sacrifices, became able to occupy a strong position in the political scenario and at times, in absence of senior leaders, the student leaderships were witnessed to carry out the mass movements.

The vigor of student politics got a new shape with the national independence. Whether it’s the question of national harmony or unification, war with neighboring countries, arbitrary decisions or harmful policies of the governments, student politics has played commendable roles. But certainly these are also not free of disadvantages. Instead of working as soldiers of country, student unions, at times, have worked as the vanguards of political parties only and the country has been the worst sufferer.

Last but not least, in spite of the strong presence of student politics, an inhuman dearth of noble natures in Indian politics is being witnessed. And the discredit lies with the student politics only.Unless it gets educated yet again, there is little hope of its resurgence.

Students are very sensitive section of society. These are the budding young men and women of India. Though students host few elections in universities such as DU, they are not really much into the actual politics. The students can be easily provoked and thus care must be taken to guide them properly. But they definitely can lead India to a better place.

Many Indian universities support student election, but these elections and politics is not even near to the actual crude politics. If we want our country to run and leap to success then we need to promote Student Politics, because only from there we will be able to locate better, bright and energetic leaders, who can direct the country in better way. Today our country needs young politicians and by supporting student politics, we may have few good politicians on the chart. Though, it is very evident that the younger generation is smart, energetic and aggressive, but often they fall prey to other political parties, who misuse their ability. Hence we need to promote the Student politics is a very scared way so that in future they can be great politicians and leaders and can work for the betterment of their mother land.

yes i think firstly students should learn and practice politics in the universities and then come into the real politics as this would help students gain knowledge on pros and cons of political working. if students succeed in getting into real politics with adequate knowledge into its working, i think most of the problems in india would be solved

student politics is seen in some universities as said above...but its a crude politics unlike the national politics which involved lots of experience and wisdom to take decisions. but students who have such desires to come into politics can polish their skills in university level and then venture into the real indian political system

student politics has long been wanted to come into main stream national politics. as mentioned, the university student politics are something sort of preliminary training to the young minds and after this i think they should venture into regional and national politics because india needs young and clean minds to serve the nation

Students’ community started with energetic and young people who are the bundle of combustible material that at the stroke of a spark lights in to a huge uncontrollable fire such as forest fire. Students and politics are interrelated and is very crucial for the Indian politics. They being energetic and young have less patience and are malleable and lively. They are full of new ideas that lacks in the experienced politicians.

students politics should not be there in colleges as it will only pave way to those few groups who will ultimately not be able to do anything good but will turn in to the real politician which is not good altogether. youngsters are the budding reformers of the indian society and if they fall in to the prey of politics then it will not be good for them. in place they should take stand against the wrong doings and doers by simply voting and giving their views.

i think if student politics if practiced with care and responsibility without any dishonesty it could be useful and give experience to amateur politicians who would want to venture into real life politics of india. it should be taken positively as a training to the young politicians, rather discouraging it.

Young India is should rise in politics also. Not only in colleges and for universities, students should enter into politics with a fine direction. But it’s not that easy for entry of young India in politics. Because most of Indians feel youngsters have high temptation. Thereby a discouraging theme is heard everywhere.

Students are the most dynamic section of the society and in my opinion, every student should participate in politics as it will help them become good orators as well as will help in developing self-confidence. It is important that youth should join politics if we want change and reformation in our society and nation. However, students who indulge in politics should not forget their primary aim and should not get carried away from studies.

Student politics can play a major role in changing the present condition of our nation from every aspect. As youth constitutes more than half of India's population, they have the potential to change our nation, making it more developed and better. Students politics can be extremely effective if they are channelized in a proper way and is carried with responsibility as the students have the potential for build a better and developed nation.
