In the wake of the abduction and gang rape of a woman in Gurgaon, the Delhi Police have directed the heads of each police station to speed up the process of identifying poorly lit areas in their jurisdiction. How important do you think street lighting is for your safety?

Mostly the cases of rapes and abduction takes place in places that are dark and isolated. Having street lights will definitely lessen the cases of abduction and rapes as people who indulge in such activities will be scared to do such acts as they will have the fear of being caught. Thus in my opinion, it is important that there are proper street lights, especially in places like Gurgaon, etc.

Sorry but even street lights cannot stop the crimes against women. The problem does not lie in these things the main problem is in the minds of the people. Even after 65 years of India's Independence, women are still thought to be a material object and are still not respected. Until and unless the mindset of people are changed and start respecting women, these crimes will never stop. Street lights or other such things cannot be of any help. Do you agree?
