The Col Minister of India, Sriprakash Jaiswal in one of his speeches said that "There is No Maza in old wives". This is an utter disrespect to women. Being a public figure, who holds an important office should not pass such comments. His words definitely reflects male chauvinist traits. It is really matter of shame that a public figure, who used to talk about Women empowerment, equality of gender, etc is passing such derogatory comments. Such comments reflects his narrow mentality and has lowered his dignity.

What do you think? Does Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal's 'No Maza in old wives' remark reflects a male chauvinist trait?

Definitely the remark of the Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal's 'No Maza in old wives' reflects a male chauvinist trait. Although he has denied that he meant something else but the remark itself is so derogatory and reflects his actual mentality. India is still has a patriarchal society and women are still not given equal status and this is reflected from the remark given by the Coal Minister of India.
