Individuals are normally recognized in a society through the statuses they occupy and the roles they enact. not only the society is dynamic but also the individual are dynamic. Men are normally engaged in endless endeavors to enhance their statuses in society, move from lower positions to higher positions, secure a superior job in the place of an inferior one. for various reasons people of higher status and position many also be forced to come down to a lower status and position. thus people in a society continue to move up and down the status scale. this movement is called Social Mobility. The Indian society is experiencing comparatively a high rate of social mobility now. however, there prevailed a belief that Indian society which is having "caste" as a dominant form of social stratification system, is relatively rigid and does not favor mobility. Such unfounded views are no more relevant now. Social Mobility seems to be very intense in India especially since the beginning of 21st century. Mobility in Indians is rapidly increasing, India is becoming more and more westernized and modernized in a way that its social, political, educational, economic, religious and other organizations are radically getting transformed. the attitudes and outlook of people, our world-view and ethos are changing. This is the biggest example of social mobility among the people of India
