By : Zee News French naval defence system contractor DCNS on Wednesday said there had been initial "teething trouble" in the transfer of technology for the Indian Navy's Scorpene submarine project but they had been resolved. Three of the six Scorpene submarines are being built at the Mazagaon Dock Limited (MDL) here as part of the Indian Navy's P75 project. The project is worth an estimated Rs 13,000 crore and all the submarines would be delivered by 2017 end, Patrick Boissier, Chairman and CEO of DCNS Group said. "There is no doubt of the technology transfer being carried out and there was some teething trouble in implementing it but they are now not there," Xavier Marchal, Senior Vice-President (India) for DCNS said at the inauguration of the firm's Indian subsidiary unit here. DCNS is also providing a comprehensive engineering package and engine gear cradles for four P28 anti-submarine warfare corvettes built by Garden Reach Shipbuilding and Engineers Ltd in Kolkata, Boissier said. "DCNS India will provide the consultancy and technical assistance to complement the work of the local team already in place," he said. The company would provide support to identify Indian suppliers to provide equipment for Scorpene specifications and ensure detailed design and production drawings were maintained through the construction process, Boissier said.
