    hi friends,

if the age of marriage of girls if raised from 18 to 21 and for boys from 21 to 23.. would be useful for girls? they may get time to go for career and also self effecient to earn if any case of unsatisfactory marriage... more education might increase chance of say in married life.. less fertility period so useful in population control... and many more.

what you think dear concerned indians ?

Which section of the society are we talking about. Their can be lot of downside for girls who are not married at the age of 18 and have to wait till 21.As sadly girls are still considered to be a burden by a large part of our society. This segment of the society will assume the burden will have to be carried another three years.

I understand the thought behind this point.I would rather say compulsory free education a must for all girls will solve all the issues raised by you in a big way.

increasing the marriage age doesnt matter.the main thing to do is to change the mind set of the people.because in remote villages people get their daughters married early.they dont care about the legal system or the law

Marriage ages have been determined based on following facts:

    a) Men mature slow sexually compared to women.
    b) While many women can happily accept the role of housemaker, majority of men have to venture out in search of livelyhood.

Ages 21(M) and 18(F) have not been conceived by fluke, 21 is the age when men graduate and hopefully get their first jobs, 18 is the age when most women are finished with their higher secondary education and are mature enough to bear a child. Does it make sense?

    growth spurt

Just ask any doctor/physician why do men's body grows slow compared to women's. For a girl growth spurt comes at the age of 11-14 while for men its 15-18 and they can keep growing for an extended period of upto 24 years, in case of twins (one girl and one boy) at 11-14 years girls will be physically taller and stronger as compared to men [many parents having twin brother&sister get panic for this reason when they see that their girl has grown taller (3-4 inches) as compared to the boy at 11-12 years]. Also women gain puberty earlier as compared to men, so they can reproduce at a younger age as compared to men. This is nature, neither good nor bad.:D

I aquired 50% of my genes from my father and the other 50% from my mother and thats enough to prove that men can reproduce for sure.

I think instead of raising the limit, it should be reduced to 16 for girls and 18 for guys.

Teenagers are becoming are more "forward" and mature at VERY early these days.

Thanks to internet, Stupid TV shows and Mobile phones.

Culprit has been nabbed and is under trial now!

I think there should not be any limit it should fully depend on the girl and boy if he or she can feel they are matur to marry then let them marry

    Freedom in everything :)
