It has been witnessed that in recent time, the Sedation law has been used first against the Political Cartoonist Aseem Trivedi and now against two girls for their Facebook post about Balasaheb Thackery. However, in my view the use of Sedation Law against Aseem Trivedi can be justified but not against the two girls who were recently arrested. Sedation laws in my view needs amendment and should not be used for such cases which can be resolved easily. What are your views? Should Sedation Law in India be amended?
In my view Sedation laws does not need any amendment rather it should be applied rightly and not anywhere and everywhere. I agree with you that it was rightly used against Aseem Trivedi but in case of the arrested two girls, sedation law was wrongly applied. Sedation law can be used only if anything is said or done against the Government but these girls did not say or do anything against the Government and thus it was wrongly applied.
