We can find Indian media at times abusing the free speech and free press rights entitled to them. And many a times, things go unnoticed or may not have taken up by the court of law for some reasons. One of the possible options to prevent media from making use of its freedom would be appointing an independent regulatory committee which could take up cases against media without any influence from external agencies. Recently there were talks about regulating british press independently, but then no such action was taken. Do you think independently regulating media would reduce any corruption? How viable is this option?
