Freedom of expression is a fundamental right guaranteed by the Indian Constitution to its citizens. However, every right conferred by the Constitution is not absolute, it has certain limitations. The recent case where political cartoonist and activist Aseem Trivedi was arrested saying that he has misused his right to freedom of expression. In my view, this arrest is not justified and is totally a political conspiracy. They cannot limit a citizen in expressing his views about anything and if limitations are imposed, it should be justified. What do you think Should Freedom of expression have its limitations?

With freedom comes responsibility. If people are not able to fulfill the responsibility of a given freedom, it should have limitations to control it. However, there is no absolute freedom and every freedom comes with certain restrictions and limitations and similarly the Freedom of expression. This freedom allows us to put our views, express ourselves but not to abuse any subject of National honour or degrade any national monument etc. Definitely, Freedom of expression should have its limitations or else there will be no restriction as to what people speak.
