Indian culture is great and its manifestations are even more wonderful, all the traditions, customs and cultural rituals which are meant in our Indian culture have not developed superficially but rather scientifically proved as well. One such tradition of the Indian culture is to get the ears and nose pierced. Now this piercing of both the ears and nose is very significant as it is recommended not only for the sake of beauty enhancement but for a scientific reason too. The scientific reason behind getting these body parts pierced is that that there is a special vein in the ears and nose that is responsible for improving the power of thinking, sensing power and also improves the blood flow to the brain. So while piercing this vein is being pressed that creates stimulation in it and that also allows the aforesaid benefits to the brain. That is why in Indian culture piercing of ears is prescribed for both women and men without any differentiation. In the West Indian parts like Rajasthan and Gujarat one may find most of the men with pierced ears. Piercing of nose later on become a feminine symbol but we can observe that in the ancient India also, Kings and Rulers had their ears pierced perhaps they were more aware of the scientific reasons behind these traditions.
