War between astrology and science : The struggle between astrology and science has been going on from time immemorial and whatever may be the claims of votaries of astrology that it is also a science; adherents of scientific thoughts refuse to accept the same. Well, the debates have been unending and both schools of thoughts have been trying relentlessly to put forward their own views. But it must be said that the debate (remaining quite dormant for past few years) has become lively yet again and the entire credit, in this context, goes to Paul, the octopus and its startlingly accurate astrology prediction during the FIFA world cup. Science and Astrology match : How could Paul be so accurate? This question is being asked by the votaries of astrology; they are found to echo “there are more things in heaven and earth”. Well, supporters of science are not ready to recognize all these but prefer to retain a silence. Why don’t we have a few words on astrology? Astrology, if truth be told, happens to be a group of systems, traditions, and beliefs that consider relative positions of celestial bodies and related details are capable enough to provide information about personality, human affairs and other "earthly" matters. Astrologers, in short, do believe that the movements and positions of celestial bodies either directly influence life on Earth or correspond to events experienced on a human scale. As per Famous astrologers (practitioner of astrology), astrology is nothing other than a symbolic language. It, as per astrologers, is also an art form, or a form of divination. Well, there is no uniformity in the sphere of astrology too and it is largely divided between western and Vedic or Hindu traditions. Hindu astrology makes use of different zodiac signs and is different to western doctrines in many respects. It may be that you are skeptical or a firm non-believer in astrology. i support science as it believes in what is realistic. astrology is all based on predictions and does not have a sound reason for what happens. science has reason for everything for what happens and there is no denial to what it says. so i'd rather go for something that is rational and ground to earth.
Astrology was based on science.... But with time its main purpose corrupted and it became a tool of useless predictions...
Science and Astrology are far related to each other. Astrology is based on beliefs where as Science is based on beliefs with evidence. both the sciences are though related to each other in one way or the other. if astrology starts using evidences and reasons for a cause, it will be admired as good as science.

science is something which relies on valid data and proofs.. where as astrology is purely based on data which has come from old times without any scientific basis. its all about predictions which have only chances of going right. but science is totally based on solid facts which have minimal chances of going wrong.

Astrology is the study of stars. Astrology is a prediction that has proved to be right for some cases. Science is also something like same material. Why because, I feel like science is an imagination, which can compromise many scientists and professors with that imagine. For example kekkule a chemist who explained the structure of chemical molecules. It has been followed for 50 years later it was proved wrong by Bayer So what kekkule’s theory is an imagine that convinced everyone on his generation. So now why we shouldn’t consider astrology as a part of science
I do not think that science is an imagination in fact science is based on the hard core facts and has the reasons for each reaction and expressions. It is completely wrong to say that science is an imagination well yes, astrology to some extent you can say is based on imagination.
Well actually it’s my feeling that science is an imagination. Why because many theoretically proved experiments didn’t work practically. If science is a very much perfect concept then how people find demerits in it. hence I feel science is nothing but a imagine that can convince everyone
There's nothing much difference between science and astrology. Science says something is right according to some formula, which is accepted but some related laws. Astrology says something, which is right based on their knowledge on solar system. The only difference between them is that science knowledge is accepted by many people as it is based on complete facts whereas astrology is accepted by very few people.
Science is having a much longer theoretical proofs than astrology. Because of this m main reason people show narrow thoughts towards astrology. How many of users reading my comment can say horoscope didn’t mean anything in their life. Believe it or not, star power plays major role in attitude and character. The problem with Indian astrology is, we do follow English calendar whereas astrologers show interest towards Hindu calendar.
Science works mainly because you can always say it is wrong! (You also need to prove it) Our knowledge keeps expanding through science unlike other schools of thought which remain stuck in old ideas and traditions that can never be question. That is the beauty of science. Science is not perfect but the methodology used in finding out theories can be used to learn more and discover more!
It is a misconception that astrology and science are different. All astrological predictions are based on scientific calculations. Even the religious beliefs are more or less based on science. An astrologer deals in mathematics a great deal while doing his/her readings. So, for me there should be no clash between astrology and science.
astrological predictions can somehow tell u about the bad or good phase of life, but still you can't rely on astrology for taking vital decision of your life. Your hard work, efforts, extreme faith on god can change your destiny. Astrology is all about 30 percent calculation, 25percent intuition, 25percent fluke and rest of the 15percent your on going problems with the help of which majority of astrologers make say right things and rest of the predictions are exaggerated. Astrologers take a hint from your current situations, add their own logic in it and try to provide the best solutions. Your destiny is in your own hand, no one has the power to change your future, except you or god.
It is a never ending debate on whether astrological predictions are true and whether it is actually a science. However, astrology today has spread all over. Astrological predictions are not always right. Though it is science, it is not always treated as science by the astrologers and they make the predictions in general. Science always has logic behind everything but astrology does not have logic behind all predictions. At times, undoubtedly everything seems to be matching the predictions made by the astrologers but it is only by chance. Instead of believing in the stars, it is always the hard work that can change everything.
