ST66 is a newly launched 16 megapixel digital camera by Samsung which comes with simple design but elegant looks. It comes in five colors-black, silver, light blue, pink and red. The front of the camera has an aluminum plate with matte finish. The camera has power button, zoom rocker, microphone and a tiny speaker which is located on the top of it. It comes with a 2.7-inch LCD monitor, which is a standard feature of entry-level digital cameras. The key features of the camera are: HD, 5x, 16.1 megapixels and the numbers describing the optics. The lens of the ST66 is quite wide at 25 mm and it extends to 125 mm, which translates to 5x optical zoom. ST66 features Live Panorama and Movie modes. The scene presets are limited – Beauty Shot (skin softening), Funny Face (distorts faces), Night, Landscape, Text, Sunset, Backlight and Magic Frame. The Magic Frame is most interesting, wherein you get 13 overlay frames to have fun with – Magazine cover, Newspaper, Classic TV, Billboard, Mural etc. It is below average in terms of handling noise and the over all performance of the camera is just average. The camera is priced at Rs. 6,690/-.
Samsung ST66 is a low budget Digital camera and how can anyone expect high picture quality as well as sound quality of a camera that costs Rs. 6,690/- when today there are cameras that costs lakhs of rupees. In my view, at this rage, ST66 has some good features which is sufficient for any non-professional person, moreover, it is quite affordable.
