After successful launch of several Smartphone, phablets and tablets, Samsung has recently unveiled its new phablet Galaxy Grand 2. It is a successor of Galaxy Grand and comes with more RAM, larger display and ofcourse a bigger battery with more battery life. It is definitely an improved version and a mid-range phone. Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 is priced between Rs. 19,000 to 21,000 in India. The new Galaxy Grand 2 is built in a similar style as its predecessor. It has curved edges but with a slightly bigger display. This new phablet comes with a 5.25 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, which is capable of delivering images and pictures with more clarity and sharpness. Furthermore, this new device is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1.5 GB RAM, which seems to be quite good for running multiple applications on the phone without hanging. It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Operating system with the TouchWiz add-ons and ensures smooth functioning of the device and makes it user-friendly as well as application friendly. The multi-window multitasking feature that allows users to view two apps side-by-side is available and other features like Samsung Hub, ChatOn, S Travel, S Translator, Group Play, S Health and Story Album come pre-installed. In addition, this new phablet from Samsung, one of the giant manufacturer of phones comes with an internal storage of up to 8GB, which can be easily expanded up to 64 GB using a microSD card. It sports an 8MP camera on the rear that comes with LED flash and autofocus. There is also a 1.9MP camera on the front panel to facilitate video calling. This new phablet comes with dual-SIm support but however, the drawback is that it does not support 4G LTE network. Among the connectivity options, Galaxy Grand 2 comes with Bluetooth v4.0, USB 2.0, GPS with Glonass support and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n. The phablet features multiple sensors like compass and accelerometer for proximity and light. The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 comes with a powerful 2600 mAh battery that offers a talktime 17 hours and 10 hours playback time. The phablet is available in Pink, Black and White colours. According to me the Galaxy Grand 2 is a good deal within that given price range but would have been better if it would have supported the latest 4G LTE network. What do you Proud Indians think?
