The government is spending so much on the infrastructure. Every day we see new parks and building coming up and now mall have changed the entire concept of shopping. With so much of development, the roads are still not a friend to the drivers. There are more holes than there is hardly any road that one can see. Now even the tires and car manufacturers use this point in their selling strategy by saying “designed for Indian roads”. When monsoon strike, there are more puddles and stickiness that all traffic comes to halt. Even after so much of road tax collection there is no road.

Should we pay road tax when we do not have proper roads?

the present condition of roads in India is terrible and they are causing menace to the drivers. these days driving has become a challenge rather than a pleasure. Indian government is looting loads of road taxes from the citizens but doing the least in laying new roads. people not only face troubles in driving but also face accidents and damage to the vehicles.

the roads of india are pretty much in a bad state.. many places do not have roads and the once which have roads, are all broken.. government does not realize the cost which common man has to pay for such roads. all the vehicles get damaged due to such roads.. there are number of accidents due to pit holes.. sometimes it even costs lives.. the driving gives people huge mental tension due to faulty roads

The road structure has improved a lot in past 5 years. Especially the GT roads, and national highways. But Govt need to take care of the roads which are inside the city. As per my opinion Central Govt is working really hard in road construction, but some State Govt are not up to the mark.

Roads of NCR and metropolitan cities are good but the interior of the country like the inside roads that reaches to home are seen in deteriorated condition. NCR roads are indeed good but still the quality concrete and stones used in making the roads show their reality at the time of monsoons. Roads become bad in condition.

Not completely agreed. NCR rodas especially sectors road in Gurgaon and Faridabad are at their worst stage. Water logging can be seen even in summer also. Sewage problem is one of the biggest issue.

I am not denying the fact that the roads of NCR are all good but stil you can see th drastic change in the roads of NCR. the flyovers and the highways are all in fantastic conditions. Yes, there are flaws in the roads from gurgaon to faridabad but still the problem is not that big. Work is still going on and I guess in coming years flyovers will be made in a small time.

Yes changes are there. But won't you think it is because of metros that traffic is reduced a lot which allows the people to keep the highways and roads upgraded.

the roads of india are causing havoc to the people living in cities and suburbs. people get stressed out driving in such roads which are full of potholes and cracked surfaces. there is mental agony, loss of asset(damage to the vehicle), and sometimes even physical injuries and accidents. when government does not delay in taking taxes from people, why is there a delay in repairing roads?
