ISRO has recently launched RISAT 1 (Radar Imaging Satellite) which the very first of such kind that India's built on its own. The satellite throws microwaves which are reflected back by the targeted surface and these reflected waves are scanned by RADAR to give out the results. This satellite can tell which car you are driving from 600 kms above, all owing to its high tech radar imaging ability.
