The life of Chanakya is a saga of revenge, political diplomacy, shrewdness, ruthless administration and achieving ends through strategic means. Perhaps, he is the only Indian scholar equally admired by the intellectuals of both west and east. His Arthashastra and Niti shastra are two masterpieces on administration, economy, limits of power, inclusive welfare which have their relevance even in 21st century. I won't discuss about how Chanakya destroyed the Nanda Dynasty and established the Maurya Empire. Rather, our focus will be on his vision dreams and policies that aim at a better world to live in. In Arthashastra, Great India Political Pundit and economist Chanakya has clearly emphasized on a self-dependent economy. Until and unless a nation becomes self-independent on aspects like food production, security and safety of its own people, it cannot become powerful. Efficient utilization of available resources is another point on which Chanakya emphasized. He knew that resources are limited in comparison to human wants. Hence, efficient management of resources is the most suitable way to build a prosperous nation. According to Chanakya, both internal and external security are vital aspects of effective administration. Political instability, civil war and invasion block the road of growth. Hence, In Arthashastra Economist Chanakya emphasized upon building of forts and taking all precautions for both internal and external security. Chanakya can be safe called as the first advocate of “Equality before law”. He was of the view that law should take its own course irrespective of the status of the accused involved. Chanakya was a teacher in true sense and he explained the role of teachers in Nation Building in KaiKay Raj Sabha. Along with, Chanakya gave more priority to women if involved in a case as he was very much aware of status of women of India in Indian society. In this sense, he can also be called as a torchbearer of women empowerment. Along with, Chanakya also stated that agriculture and safety of citizens during peace should be the sole responsibility of the state. All the above principles ,observations , Chanakya Niti and Quotes are quite relevant in today’s society and if implemented , we can make India great and a better place to live in.
chanakya was a great ruler and it is not an easy gameplay to become a ruler as it requires utmost wisdom and he had it. his quotes in those days will always hold good in any century as the quotes are evergreen facts which are needed to be understood by every generation and implemented. he concentrated on the backbone of india that is agriculture and other aspects such as women empowerment and security of nation.
chanakya has advocated many quotes and principles which still hold good in the present century. though we are living in advanced age there are some "facts" which will be evergreen at all ages. if the present generation follows the ideals set by chanakya there could be better situation which is existing these days,
