MDG 5, MMR has taken a quick down turn during the years 2003-2006 from 301 per 100000 live births in 2001-2003 to 254 per 100000 live births in 2004-2006 as per the SRS estimates. The MDG (Millennium Development Goals) for India is from 447 in 1990-1991 to 109 by 2015. At the historical pace of decrease India will reach 135 by 2015.
