The 91st Amendment approved in 2001 has extended freezing of State Assembly and Lok Sabha seats till the year 2026. The present strength of Lok Sabha is 545 seats. but when were additions made to the preamble? Changes were made to the Preamble in the year 1976 by the 42nd Amendment. New words were added to the Preamble – Unity, Integrity of the Nation, Secular, and Socialist.
